Wrapped in Plastic

Plastic clothing is one of the best responses to leather hence the eco friendly vegan option for those who care about environment, clothing quality and love a bit of an edge. Resistant, waterproof and fierce, it is a great option but…How? Was plastic not suposed to be damaging for the environment?

Well, we live on the age of “recycle or die” and no wonder why. It is obvious we have to take care of mother Earth. Eco-fi plastic (see description below) looks like a great option:

“Eco-fi is a high-quality polyester fiber made from 100% certified recycled plastic PET bottles. It can go into any textile product such as clothing, blankets, carpets, wall coverings, auto interiors, home furnishings, and craft felt. Eco-fi can also be blended with other fibers, such as cotton or wool, for enhanced qualities.

10 bottles = 1 pound of fiberPlastic PET containers are picked up at community recycling centers, then sorted by type and color. They are stripped of their labels and caps, washed, and crushed, then chopped into flake. The flake is melted and extruded to create fiber. The fiber is crimped, cut, drawn and stretched into desired length for strength, then baled. The baled fiber can be processed into fabric for a variety of textile product end uses. Eco-fi can also be blended with other fibers, such as wool, cotton and tencel, for enhanced qualities. Eco-fi is used mostly for vests, jackets, pants, blanket throws and accessories. It is also used in carpets, home furnishings and fiberfill”.

If that is true! Bring us some more!.
